Historic Christ Church - Irvington Virginia

Creek View Farm is located near the quaint colonial settlement of Lancaster.  The town is famous for a Mary Ball Washington Museum  - named in honor of the mother of George Washington.  She was born in this area and just down the road in Kilmarnock you will find the Kilmarnock Museum.  In Irvington you'll find Historic Christ Church - shown on the left - one of the oldest churches in America.

 

Steamboat Museum - Irvington The Steamboat Era Museum documents our rich history of steamboats and their landings.  Commerce, theatre, and passenger transportation centered around steamboats from 1880 to the mid 1930s.

 

Belle Isle State Park Belle Isle State Park offers seven miles of shoreline on the Rappahannock River.  Visitors can explore a wide variety of tidal wetlands interspersed with agricultural fields and upland forests. Belle Isle features hiking, biking, bridle trails and a 1000-foot boardwalk.  There is a boat launch and you can rent bikes, canoes, kayaks and motorboats.

 

  The Chesapeake Bay wine trail offers tours and tastings, picnic grounds and scenic overlooks.  Each winery has a gift shop and they all have a nice selection of wines made from grapes grown in the area. Visit their website for a trail map, hours of operation and special events information.
